Kitchen Hoods - 4. How to Start and Use After Installation

Overview

This guide explains the first steps a customer should follow immediately after installation of their kitchen hood. It ensures correct usage, safety, and long‑term performance.

1. Before First Use

After installation, please check the following:

  • Power supply is connected properly

  • Oil collector tray is inserted

  • Filters are fitted correctly

  • There is no packing material left inside

  • The hood is mounted at the correct height (as per model)

2. How to Start the Hood

Follow these steps to switch ON the hood for the first time:

  1. Turn ON the main power switch

  2. Press the Power / On-Off button on the hood

  3. Select the required speed level

    • Speed 1 → Light cooking

    • Speed 2 → Regular cooking

    • Speed 3 → Heavy frying / tadka

3. Using the Lights

Most hoods have a Light button. Press once to turn ON the LED light. Press again to turn it OFF.

4. When to Use Auto‑Clean (If your model supports it)

Use Auto‑Clean:

  • After 15–20 days of regular cooking

  • When you notice oil collection

  • When suction feels slightly reduced

How to run Auto‑Clean:

  1. Switch ON the hood

  2. Press the Auto‑Clean icon

  3. Wait for the heating cycle to complete (1–2 minutes)

  4. Remove and clean the oil tray

5. Basic Do’s and Don’ts

Do’s

  • Keep the hood ON during cooking

  • Clean the oil tray regularly

  • Wipe the outer body with a soft cloth

Don’ts

  • Do not touch the blower after Auto‑Clean

  • Do not spray water inside the hood

  • Do not run the hood with wet hands

6. When to Contact Support

Contact customer care if:

  • The hood does not start

  • Buttons are not responding

  • Excessive noise or vibration

  • Lights are not working
